Cross Country Round 6 was held at Hollyhill on Saturday afternoon in picture perfect conditions.
The 1km had three competitors with Randira DeSilva coming in first followed by a very enthusiastic Lhiam Crook then Bella Crawford
In the 2km Heidi McLaren took the win followed by Lana Crawford. Malachy Martin sprinted the final metres for third place and Aidan McLaren was fourth.
The sunshine brought out twenty athletes for the 3km event and it was Zoe Musson who crossed the line first. Harry Davis was second and Macca Davis was third. Jett Goddard recorded the fastest time of 14:24 as he crossed for fifth place. Emily McLaren was sixth and was the fastest female runner with a time of 15:00 and was closely followed by Erin Smart in 15:31.
Medium course was contested by twenty-one competitors with Mel Mustapic taking line honours in front of Darlene Musgrove. Will Dyball was third in a fast time of 19:35. Hamish McLaren was second fastest with 20.40 as he crossed in seventh place and Angela Bond was the fastest female with a time of 29:48.
Long course winner was the formidable Dean Bryce in 53:25 whilst Dan O’Connor was second and Perry Strand sprinted his way into third place, squeezing in front of Graham Anderson. Jasper Arnold was fifth in the fastest time of 43:29 and Sabina Hamaty was the fastest female with 54:27.
After the running, members enjoyed a delicious BBQ on the grounds of Hollyhill, hosted generously by Andrew and Alison Havadjia with the Committee, before the official proceedings began.
At the AGM the 2021-2022 committee was nominated and accepted.
We welcomed back all of the previous committee members who signed up for another year, and we thank them for their ongoing commitment.

In addition we welcomed new committee members to the ranks:

Cam Musgrove
We thank these members for putting up their hand to join the Committee and look forward to hearing their ideas and embracing their input.
The new committee is a mix of old and new members and is a great cross-section representation of our members, covering both cross country and track and field and across age groups.
Following the AGM, the Presentation took place. Certificates were awarded to the first three placegetters in each distance of last year’s cross country competition which consisted of just 7 completed points rounds during a covid-impacted season. Presentations were also made to the winners from 2020/2021 Track and Field Season and Road Running Competition.
Congratulations to everyone!
