Cross Country Round 2 was held at Hollyhill on Saturday 24th April.
There were five enthusiastic runners in the 1km event with Leah Kelley leading the way home. Jade Kelley was second and Sam Kelley was third. Lhiam Crook was fourth and Aidan McLaren rounded out the field in fifth place.
In the 2kms Lana Crawford took victory with Heidi McLaren second and Jackson Musson third. It was great to see Jayla Booth competing at cross country after a successful Track and Field season. Jayla crossed in fourth and Dane Kelley was fifth. Airlie Stevens was the quickest athlete crossing in 9:13 for sixth place followed by Zoe Musson and Tim Musson.
The 3kms event had twenty-one competitors with Noah Dyball taking the win in front of Katrina Davis and Zac Peters. Emily McLaren was by far the fastest athlete with 14:45. Next fastest was Gaveen DeSilva who crossed in fourth place in a time of 15:56.
Medium course Division 1 was taken out by Darcy Davis in 22:22. Running in second was Hamish McLaren in 20:46 and third was Harrison Baxter in 20:13. Bradley Sawyers was the quickest over this distance finishing in fifth in 19:00. Division 2 was won by Alex Arnold followed by Lisa Carroll and then Alison Havadjia.
Long course saw Jasper Arnold take line honours in the fastest time of 44:12 with Damian Smith second in 44:34 and Graham Anderson third in 52:56. Peter Khourey was fourth in 49:40 and Scott Johnson fifth in 51:53. Meanwhile Division 2 was won by Dan O’Connor with second place going to Milton Cox who was very happy to go under an hour on this challenging course, clocking 59:49. David Hughes was third in 59:50 and Michael Brodnick was fourth in 1:02:06. Dean Bryce was the quickest in Division 2 clocking 56:32 for fifth place and Rob Woods was sixth.
