The 2021 NSW Masters Athletics Throws Pentathlon State Championships were held on April 18th at Wollongong. The Throws Pentathlon consists of 3 attempts at each of the five throwing events in the order of Hammer, Shot, Discus Throw, Javelin, Weight.
Nowra’s Kerrie Jones performed well earning herself a State silver medal in the 65 age group.
Kerrie achieved 20.01 metres in hammer and 6.24 metres in shot put. In the discus Kerrie hurled the 1kg discus 17.70 metres before spearing 13.72 metres in javelin. In the final event Kerrie threw 8.47 metres in weight throw.
Kerrie earnt a total of 2579 points to take the silver medal. What a wonderful way to end her season!
