As our year draws to a close, I thought I would end it with a light-hearted Christmas-theme poem.
The year has been a tough one, with many obstacles to jump over to get us to the finish line, but we made it!
So, enjoy the festive season and here’s to a much calmer 2021.
T’was the week before Christmas and all through the town,
Nowra athletes were stirring for the annual Christmas crown.
The track was prepared and the puddings were bought,
The handicaps were sealed as the best race was sought.
The runners were excited and all ready to run
With visions of racing after hearing the starters gun.
The racers had Christmas attire and hats
All ready to compete in the handicap format
Then the weather decided to thunder and clatter,
And all hopes of pudding this year were shattered.
So no racing, no pudding, no bragging rights
But “Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
