For a change, the weather favoured a beach run. This weeks adventure too place at Plantation Point. Some of the newer runners that haven’t attempted this course before missed an arrow and headed in the wrong direction. A quick shout out had them turning back and heading on the right course. It is a relatively quick run (for some) with the middle section throwing up some gentle inclines. (Isn’t that how you describe it Kevyn).
Andy Depree was given a welcome back handicap and utilised it beautifully to take out the winners chocolate. He had a good lead over 2nd place getter Linda Clarke and Charlie Coulson-Knight had to be satisfied with 3rd place. Our chocolate prizes make for a competitive field and Darrin Smith pushed it to the limits to cross into 4th only inches in front of Laura Babian.
Rob Wood, who competed in the Cross Country Season has decided to give the Road runs a crack and finished in a respectable 7th place. Paul Jennings also had a good run this week taking out 10th spot.
Next week we meet at Tomerong Hall at 4.30pm. Don’t forget you need to be a financial member to run in this competition. The one fee will cover you for Road Runs, Track and Field and Cross Country.
