Vincentia was the meeting place for this week’s summer road runs. Fortunately the temperature had dropped into the low 20’s by the time the first runner was off. It was only a small group that gathered this week but that didn’t mean it was any less competitive. When chocolate is involved, friendships take a back seat and the rumours of corner cutting were flying thick and fast but have not been verified. Suzanne has tried the sympathy route for a good time for next week by taking a dive whilst running. Unfortunately, that won’t work either.
Eva was the lucky winner of this week’s first place chocolate. Terry was able to hold the rest of the pack off for 2nd and birthday boy, Dean collected for 3rd. Sean (whose birthday was Monday) were kind enough to share their birthday cake.
It’s a given fact that if you’re a runner competing in a handicapped competition you feel obliged to whinge about the time you’ve been allocated. This week was no exception but I must say the under appreciated handicapper got it right as the runners crossed the line within minutes of each other. Well done Kevyn.
Thanks must go to our administrators this week and to Paul, Sean, Andy and Lisa for setting the course.
Next week we run at Tomerong. See you there.
