Round 9 had a small but dedicated group of athletes competing in a range of events.
On the track there was some good running from the girls, Meg Morris, Casey Johnson, Erin Martin and Camryn Anfruns.
The boys also showed good form, with Keeghan Norwood, Ethan Havadjia, Corey McConville, and Nicholas Jagot all running well in the sprint events.
In the Senior divisions Zac Havadjia finished first in both the 50metre and 150metre events. Jordan deVries, Brock Nichols and Liam Dooley also showed good speed.
Once again Zoe Chater finished first in the senior womens sprints with Sarah deVries in second place.
Andrew Rodda led the Vets across the line in the 50metre sprint, followed by Tim Musson, Alan Hughes and Kevin Norwood (who remembered his running attire this week!)
In the longer sprint event, once around the track, Cameron Musgrove finished first in a fast time on a bumpy track. Zac Havadjia ran in second, Leith Babian was third and Peter Dooley fourth.
In the distance event of 1000m it was Bradley Sawyers who ran home first, with a very solid run. Leith Babian followed for second place, Scott Johnson was third and Peter Dooley fourth.
In the field, jumping high was Brock Nichols, clearing a height of 1.70m in the high jump. Jordan deVries and Liam Dooley also put in some good jumps.
While in the shot put circle the little ones showed some good throwing techniques. Emma Keane threw 6.25 metres and Eilish Norwood threw 6.17 metres. It was good to see Anna and Eva Lilly, Callula Norwood and Claire Musson all displaying great enthusiasm and commitment with their throwing.
Nowra Athletics welcomes any interested athletes to come along and join the family friendly club.
