A large contingent of runners turned up on Friday night to duke it out for a chocolate, Handicaps ranged from Go (start of the clock) up to 20min 30 sec and everything in between. Handicapping takes a lot of skill and broad shoulders because most people don’t realise their capabilities and believe that have been hard done by. Having said that, the majority of runners just whinge for the fun of it.
Conditions were good on Friday night for running the streets. Ava once again stepped up to take a podium place (1st). She was being chased down by Charlie who overtook Eva about 1 metre from the finish. Eva’s performance is always consistent and this week was no exception. New runner Erin Smart crossed in 2nd (but as a first time runner, relinquished her podium place – although she did receive a chocolate). Added incentive this week was the birthday cakes waiting for us at the end. Birthday wishes go to Eva, Brad and Tash. Best wishes and a speedy recovery are sent to Donna Johnson who is on the mend after an operation that will put her out of action for the rest of the season.
This Saturday is the 1km handicap run at the Nowra Show. If you are interested, please contact Peter Dooley ASAP so your time can be organised.
Friday night run will be at Erowal Bay. See you there.
