Last week a number of our juniors competed at the 2018 NSW PSSA Athletics Championships. These Championships were held at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre on 31st October (Halloween) and 1st November.
Ruby Marshall competed in the girls 12-13 years 800m finishing 25th in 2.43.89 minutes.
Toby Dyball also competed in the 800m in the boys 11 years event placing 29th in 2.42.57.
Both Ruby and Toby did well competing in extreme heat and improved on their previous performances.
Reilly Caswell competed in three different individual events; the 100m, 200m and long jump. Reilly finished 18th in the 11 years 200m qualifying for the semis with a qualifying time of 28.37. He then placed 17th in the 200m semi in 29.20. In the 100m Reilly placed 31st with 14.06 and in long jump he jumped to 32nd place with a distance of 3.89 metres.
Charlie Heidke competed in the 12 years 100m and 200m making the 100m Semi final. He finished 20th in the semi with a time of 13.48 after clocking 13.16 in the heats. In the 200m Charlie came 29th in a time of 27.65.
Asher Chapman proved his sprinting prowess making the 9 years 100m final. Asher ran in 5th in the heats in 14.25 then placed 7th in the semi with a faster time of 14.02 before finishing 10th in the final with 14.73. Great running Asher!
Max Marshall finished Top 20 in the 8-10 years High Jump leaping his way to 18th place clearing the bar at 1.30 metres.
Patrick O’Leary threw 29.79 metres for 13th place in the 8-10 years Discus whilst Taj Barrett placed 9th with a throw of 30.90 metres. In the girsls events Talea Miller placed 15th in the 12-13 years discus with a throw of 27.02 metres and Oloivia Davis finished 30th with 21.71m in the same event .
