Whilst many of the Nowra athletes were at Miranda on Saturday 27th May competing in the NSW Cross Country Relays other competitors still enjoyed the local competition at Longreach course for Round 8.
In the 1km course Emily McLaren was first across the line yet again with Micah Proctor second and Saxon Egan third.
In the 2km it was Thomas Duncan who won Division 1 with Toby Dyball second and Reilly Caswell third. Division 2 was won by Elizabeth Davis with Brodie Wilson running in second and Lucy Duncan took third.
The 3km saw very low numbers with Division 1 being claimed by William Dyball followed by Ethan Havadjia and Zac Peters. Division 2 was won by Isabel Cofield with Adam Wells taking second and Andrew Havadjia was third.
Medium Course Division 1 had just two competitors and it was Briony Munro who wrapped up the winning points in front of Jon Schol. Division 2 saw a few more athletes vying for points. Harry Davis was first across the line followed by Rod Rose and then Peter Heald. Meanwhile Division 3 was claimed by Zahra Wells-Smith with Donna Johnson second and Angela Urquhart third.
In the long course it was Steve O’Connor first home with Darrin Smith second and Elisha Bell third. Division 2 was won by Darren Morris whilst Rebecca Cooper ran in second and David Hughes took third place.
