Wednesday night Track and Field competition is drawing to a close and our athletes are going out with a bang.
Last Wednesday on 26th February, Kerrie Jones threw 16.66m for a new 70+ discus record, bettering her previous record of 16.16m. This comes on the back of her recent nomination for NSW Masters Athletics Multi-event female athlete of the year. Congratulations Kerrie.

On the track Erin Smart broke the 40-49 year 200m record clocking 27.02, just edging in front of her previous record of 27.09. Congratulations Erin.
Enjoying the 2nd last pointscore round were a host of familiar faces. Tim Musson threw 33.92m in discus and Steve Schott 28.72m. Also throwing well were Kadance Naylor with 27.77m, Anne Boatswain 26.71m, Zoe Musson 25.94m, Claire Musson 24.18m, Amy Wagner 23.54m and Nakita Boatswain 23.40m.
Shot put was also well contested by Steve Schott with a throw of 10.52m followed by Tim Musson with 10.44m. Kadance Naylor threw 10.12m and Claire Musson 9.73m.
In long jump, Riley Sandstrom had a good jump with 3.67m and Emerson Boatswain was also just short of 4m with her jump of 3.55m. Ezekiel Blinksell jumped 3.12m, Heidi Saviane 3.04m and Jack Saviane 3.00m.
On the track, Steve Schott had a good run in the 200m with 26.20. Riley Sandstrom also set a good time with 31.21, as did Zoe Musson with 31.37. Eight-year-old Madison Sandstrom, little pocket rocket, clocked 39.10.
Macca Davis won the 2km race in 7.32.69 followed by Madeline Oke in 7.56.24. William Heffill was 3rd in 9.44.08 and Emerson Boatswain was 4th in 9.53.21. Maggie Ball was 5th in 9.53.24 followed by Isla Saviane in 10.09.01, Gavin Dyball in 11.30.30 and Jameson Day in 11.46.47.
Macca Davis won his heat of the 800m in 2.41.70 whilst Emerson Boatswain took out her heat in 2.49.40. Meanwhile Madison Sandstrom was the winner of the junior heat in 3.30.91 followed by Hewie Sproule in 3.33.50 and Zepplin Blinksell was 3rd in 3.48.76.
Next week will be the final pointscore round of the Summer Track and fIeld competition.
