Track and Field on 11th December saw 4 more records fall!
On the track Tom Brookes clocked 15.84 over the 110m hurdles to smash his dad Nigel’s record of 18.10, set back in the 1984-85 season.
Maggie Ball re-claimed the 3km record in the Under 9 year-old group, running through in 14:00.46 bettering teammate Ivy Donougher’s record of 14:08.34 set on 20th November. These two young promising athletes keep getting better and better and trading records; Maggie having set the initial record at 15:23.61 on 23rd October.
In the hammer arena, Emerson Boatswain threw 13.14m for a new record in the 12-13 year-old group, improving on her own previous best of 11.77m set on November 6th. Meanwhile, Anne Boatswain had the biggest hammer throw of the night with 20.49m.
Sam Keogh cleared the high jump bar at 1.27m, bettering her previous record of 1.25m for the 40-49 year group.
Also in high jump, Declan Lee, Macca Davis and Zoe Musson all jumped 1.23m whilst Isla Bailie had the biggest jump in the long jump pit with 4.14m.
In the discus circle Tim Musson achieved the biggest throw with 33.86m followed by Kadance Naylor with 28.67m, Claire Musson 27.85m, Zoe Musson 27.30m and Geoff Crook 26.49m. Tim also had the biggest throw in javelin with 38.80m whilst Hamish McLaren speared 36.95m.
Back on the track, the 3km was won by Airlie Stevens in 12:24.87 with Macca Davis taking 2nd place in 12:25.43 and Gavin Dyball taking 3rd in 12:34.04.
Airlie Stevens was also the fastest over 400m, clocking 1:04.82 whilst Gavin Dyball recorded 1:09.29. Having good runs over this distance were Lily Sproule (1:11.01), Isla Bailie (1:11.38) and Loretta Norris (1:11.74) as well as newcomer Mark Bailey with 1:11.04.
