Capital Athletics U14 to U18 Championships and ACT Masters Athletics Championships were both held at Woden Athletics Track from 16th-18th February.
Nowra had 4 athletes travel to the Territory to compete.
Toby Dyball gave it everything in the U18 800m to take the win in a great time of 2.01.28.
In the sprints, Tom Brookes contested the U17 100m and was 5th in a time of 12.16. in the 400m, he was 6th in 56.85 and in the 400m hurdles he was 3rd in 1.01.69.
Training partner Jonah Watson also contested the U17 400m hurdles and was 4th in 1.02.57.
Meanwhile in the ACT Masters Championships, Kerrie Jones was back in the throwing arena. Kerrie earned herself 2 seasons best in the 70-74 years weight throw, starting with 8.71m and finishing with 8.78m to take the win. In the discus, Kerrie began with some great warm up throws, throwing over 16m. Kerrie couldn’t quite match the distance in the competition rounds but did achieve 15.53m for the gold medal.
