The Australian All Schools Athletics Championships took place from 8th-10th December in Perth, Western Australia.
Nic McGill contested the U16 2000m steeplechase at the Championships and won in an outstanding time of 5:55.38, just missing the 21-year-old meet record held by NSW’s James Matthews at 5:55.06. This was a 15 second PB for Nic and the gold medal was a well-earned reward for this athlete who works tirelessly towards his athletic goals.
Harrison Baxter also competed at the Championships and placed 4th in the U18 2000m steeplechase in 6:20.62 which was just outside his PB. Harrison put in an extremely gutsy effort, pushing on through the race after suffering from a fall in the water jump.
Congratulations to these outstanding athletes. We are super proud of you both.
