It was another day of racing in the ACT for a small group of Nowra athletes when the High Noon No 5 meet was held at the AIS Athletics Track on Sunday 17th September 2023.
In heat 1 of the 200m, Darcy Davis ran a new PB of 26.43 when he crossed in 5th place. In heat 3, Jade Mustapic took the win in 28.94.
Darcy Davis backed up in the 800m to run his 2nd fastest time ever, crossing 1st in heat 2 in 2:07.17. In heat 3 Airlie Stevens had a cracker of a run, earning an 11 second PB. Airlie utilised role model Jade Mustapic as her pacer, chasing Jade around the track, then passing her to take the win in 2.24.35; a time just 0.35 off the National Qualifier!
What a run! After going out hard and fast, Jade Mustapic finished well for her season comeback in 2:30.86.
Meanwhile, Glen Mustapic competed in the opens 3000m and took the win in 13:27.07.
It looks like the season is heating up fast for Nowra athletes!
