Cross Country was held at Longreach Rd on Saturday 1st July. With the school holidays, there was a rather small field of athletes across most distances.
The 1km was tackled by Hayley Astin-Briggs who finished the loop in 8:34 whilst newcomers Aaron Ticehurst and Laura Ticehurst both crossed in 9:31.
Joshua Astin-Briggs was 1st home in the 2km race in 11:08 whilst Darcy Binney was 2nd in 10:50 and Malachy Martin was 3rd in 13:03.
The 3km race was fielded by 14 runners. The race was taken out by Zoe Musson in 14:23 followed by Wyatt Binney in 14:57 and then Timothy Musson 3rd in 15:11. Peter Dooley was the fastest runner over 3kms, clocking 13:12 in 9th place. Also clocking good course times were Madeline Oke (7th) with 13:22 , Toby Graham (8th) with 13.26, Evie Binney (10th) with 13:32, Macarthur Davis (13th) with 13:39 and Katrina Ward (5th) with 13:52.
Medium course winner was Katie Martin in 25:32 followed by Elisha Gilmour in 25:14 and then Alex Arnold in 26:14. Nicholas McGill was easily the fastest runner, finishing in 8th place in just 14:57. Newcomer Amy Davies had a good debut run, finishing in 4th place in 31:54. Scott Armstrong was the 2nd fastest runner, in 9th place in a time of 17:28. Mia Monkerud and Lily Sproule had a close race with each other with Mia crossing the line in 10th place in 18:32 and Lily Sproule right on her heels in 11th in 18:35.
There were 7 runners contesting long course. Jasper Arnold took line honours in 43:39 with Julia Mitchell 2nd in 1:00:17 and Peter Khourey 3rd in 55:50. Dean Bryce was 4th in 51:04 and Erich Moeller-Duhme was 5th in 1:02:22. Perry Strand was the fastest runner crossing in 6th place in 50:52 and rounding out the field was Scott Johnson in 54:28.
