NSW Milers Meet was held at Bankstown on Thursday 9th March. Cam Baxter smashed out a 21 second PB to earn himself a National Qualifier in the 2000m steeplechase. Cam was 6th across the line in 6.51.62. The Australian Championship entry standard for Under 15 is 7:05.0, and 13 year-old Cam also ran faster than the Under 16 qualifying time of 6:50.0. Well done Cam!
15 year old Nic McGill took out the U16 steeplechase event in 6.30.97, which was once again under the national standard. Nic is already Nationals bound after several qualifying runs. Meanwhile 16 year old Harrison Baxter took the win in the U18 steeplechase, earning an 11 second PB with 6.21.95. Harrison is also heading to Nationals after qualifying previously, but ran under the entry standard on the night, once again.
In the 1500m, Lana Crawford contested the B race and did extremely well in her first Milers event, finishing 9th with 5.16.63, whilst Oliver Baxter was 12th in the men’s B race with 4.31.83.
