NSW Milers III was held at Bankstown on Thursday February 2nd, 2023.
Will Dyball had an outstanding run in the 800m A race, finishing 6th and running a new PB of 1.55.35. The race was led by Benjamin Jagger from Run Crew who set a fast pace. Will held on to the front runners, looking strong. Jagger came in under the 1.50 mark for the first time, with 1:49.41, and the fast pace helped Will slice over 2 seconds off his previous PB, and earn himself a National Qualifier in the process.
Amelia May also contested the 800m A race. She too, ran a strong and controlled race, and earned a new PB. The race was fought out at the front by the very experienced Jaylah Hancock-Cameron from Bankstown and Georgia Wassall of Sydney University. Amelia pushed hard to retain 3rd place behind them and clocked 2.12.71, improving her previous best by 2 seconds.
In the 800m B race, Cooper Barrett ran well for 7th place in 2.02.45 and Toby Dyball was 11th in 2.10.75.
In the 3000m B race, all 4 Nowra athletes had solid runs. Harrison Baxter was first across the line for Nowra, crossing in 3rd place in 9.21.78. Nic McGill was 5th in 9.34.49 whilst Oliver Baxter was 16th in 10.13.25 and Cameron Baxter was hot on his heels crossing in 17th place in 10.14.65.
The men’s 1500m A race, featured 2 former Nowra athletes, whom of course, Nowra got behind. Cameron Musgrove, now of North Canberra finished 2nd and Harrison McGill was 5th.
Well done to everyone on a successful competition.
