Track and Field competition on December 7th saw another 2 new records set by Erin Smart. In the 60m Erin clocked 8.09, bettering the record of 8.30 set by Lynda Douglas in the 2009-10 season. Whilst in the 600m, Erin improved her own record of 02:33.65, set on 9th November this year, crossing in 2.33.09.
Alisha Mustapic and Tom Brookes both had good runs in the 60m sprint but it was Max Marshall who clocked the fastest time, flashing past the post in 7.51.
Evie Binney took out the junior 800m in 02:49.22 whilst Evie Smart was hot on her heels with 02:50.60. In 3rd place was Leo Fletcher in 03:08.67. The senior event was won in record time by Erin Smart followed by Peter Dooley in 2:49.22 then Dennis Smart in 02:51.76.
The 2ooom track event was won by Hamish McLaren in 6:46.83 with Dennis Smart 2nd in 8:00.92 and Emily McLaren 3rd in 8:19.79.
In the field, Loretta Norris cleared the high jump bar at 1.33m and Jamie Musson made it over 1.20m.
In the throwing arena, Tim Musson sent the discus soaring 35.14m but son Jackson Musson’s throw of 37.66m was the best of the night. Talea Miller threw 28.41m and Mark O’Leary achieved 26.38m. In shot put, Tim Musson had the biggest throw of 9.25m. It was great to have Kerrie Jones back competing after sustaining an injury. Kerrie threw 15.94m in discus and 6.13m in shot put. Melinda Jennings was strong in the throwing circles, earning 18.41m in discus and 7.80m in shot put, whilst Melinda Mustapic gained 13.27m in discus.
As always Alison and Andrew Havadjia competed with enthusiasm, across both track and field events proving to be good all-rounders.
