It was an exciting week of competition on February 5th with 4 new records set.
In the field, Kadance Naylor speared 34.87m for a new 14-15 years javelin and Anne Boatswain threw 27.74m in discus for a new 40-49 years discus record.
Meanwhile in high jump, Kate Wagner cleared 1.35m for a new 30-39 years record and Sam Keogh also cleared 1.35m to set a new 40-49 years record.
Congratulations to these athletes who continue to dedicate themselves to training and competition and continue to reap the benefits with improved performances.
On the track, Lily Sproule, another committed athlete, had an outstanding run over 3ooom, clocking 11:01.04. Whilst this time was faster than the current record for females aged 16-17, which is 11:24.00, Lily is not 16 until March so this couldn’t be ratified as a record. We know Lily will be ready to claim the record as soon as she has that birthday!
Running in 2nd in the 3000m was Tom Smart in 11.57.69 and Gavin Dyball was 3rd in 12.28.04. Madeline Oke was 4th in 12.35.04 and Emerson Boatswain was 5th in 12.58.70.

Hewie Sproule ran well to take line honours in his race in 1.31.78 and Aurora Boatswain also had a good run with a win in 1.18.99.
