Track and Field competition was full of love for athletics on Wednesday 14th February.
Erin Smart set a new record in the 40-49 years 400m, clocking 01:01.71 whilst in the discus, Anne Boatswain, set a new discus record for the 40-49 years group, throwing 25.23m.
In the sprints, Hamish McLaren had a good run in the 400m, finishing in 1:01.26. Riley Sandstrom demonstrated good form in the 100m, clocking 15.84 and Charli Binney had a great run in the 200m with 24.00.
Tom Smart took out the 1000m in 3:49.80. Dennis Smart was 2nd in 3:50.38 whilst Emerson Boatswain was 3rd in 3:53.80.
In the 3km, Dennis Smart was the winner in 12:05.43. John Smith was 2nd in 13:53.61 whilst Tom Smart was 3rd in 15:08.91. Isla Saviane persisted to complete the 7.5 laps in 18.59.99, running in 4th and Lucy Barker was 5th in 19:22.81.
It was great to see our youngest competitors Hazel Saviane and Rosie Saviane both having fun, as always, contesting both track and field events.
In the field, Tim Musson recorded some strong throws with 35.11m in discus and 39.00m in javelin. Steve Schott also had some good throws with 29.46m in discus and 32.07m in javelin.
