Round 12 of cross country was held at Hollyhill on Saturday 15th July.
In the 1km event there was just 1 competitor in Hayley Astin-Briggs who finished in 9:25.
In the 2km event there were 3 registered competitors with Ashleigh Astin-Briggs taking the win in 12:24 followed by Malachy Martin in 12:44 then Joshua Astin-Briggs in 12:12. Unregistered runners Laura Ticehurst and Aaron Ticehurst also completed the 2kms.
The 3km event was contested by 14 runners and line honours went to Katrina Ward in 16:15. Running across the line next was Zac Havadjia, clearly comfortable on his home course, however it was registered runner Glenn Sansom who took the 2nd place points with a time of 18:30 and Toby Graham took 3rd place points in 15:17. Macarthur Davis was the quickest over this distance, clocking 14:45 in 6th place whilst Madeline Oke was the fastest female with 15:50 in 7th place.
Medium course winner was Katie Martin in 29:13 with Gavin Dyball in 2nd place in 22:55 and Alison Havadjia 3rd in 36:31. Nicholas McGill was 4th and was the quickest on course with 17:33, and Cameron Baxter was next fastest with 19.20 in 6th place.
In long course Elisha Bell took the win from a field of 11, in a time of 46:12. Next home was Scott Martin in 42:37, which was the fastest time recorded over this distance, and 3rd was Martin Bell in 50:20.
It was great to return to Hollyhill after some time away, and we thank the Havadjia family for the continued opportunities to utilise this beautiful but challenging course.
